Parafilm

Parafilm tapes are plastic films used for sealing or protection. They can be used on flasks, petri plates, vials, beakers and other lab-wares. The parafilm is breathable and allows the transfer of gases like oxygen and CO2. It is also used for grafting in horticulture. Since it is composed of thermoplastic it is not autoclavable. They are available as rolls under various brand names.
